About Artvin Honey
All honeys produced with Caucasian honey bees on the foothills of the Kaçkar Mountains above 1,200 metres are on this page. We offer three varieties: light and mild flower honey, dark and intense chestnut honey, and unstrained log-hive honey. Each is available in sizes from a 485 g taster to a 5,000 g family jar. Message us on WhatsApp for ordering and stock information. Our honeys come from our own hives and producers in Artvin’s villages and highlands; there is no intermediary or wholesaler. If you are trying them for the first time, a taster size is suitable; if you consume honey regularly, larger sizes are more economical because the per-kilo price falls as size increases. Gift boxes and double sets are sent boxed.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which Honey Variety Should I Choose?
If you are buying for the first time, flower honey is the most balanced start: mild, sweet and a taste most people enjoy. Choose chestnut honey if you want an intense aroma, or log-hive honey if you prefer the natural comb form. If you are undecided, you can try all three in 485 g taster sizes and message us your preference on WhatsApp; we reply the same day.
Which Size Should I Choose?
The per-kilo price falls as size increases. For one person, 485–1,000 g is sensible; in busy households, 1,900 g and above is practical. Properly stored honey does not spoil, so buying a larger jar carries no risk and its shelf life is long. If you are trying it for the first time, start with the 485 g taster then buy your preferred variety in a larger size.
Where Does Your Honey Come From?
Our honey comes from our own hives and experienced beekeepers working in Artvin villages and highlands above 1,200 metres, especially around Ardanuç; we do not buy from wholesalers and package it. Extraction and filling take place in our own workshop in Artvin. You can message us on WhatsApp for details of our production process and receive a same-day reply.
How Do Shipping and Delivery Work?
Orders are shipped throughout Türkiye. Orders placed by 16:00 are dispatched the same day, and delivery generally takes two to six business days. Jars are carefully packed in additional bubble wrap against breakage. Payment is by bank transfer/EFT; see our delivery terms for current shipping cost and details.
Why the Kaçkar Mountains and Caucasian Honey Bees?
The Kaçkar flora brings many endemic plants together in a narrow area, and honey carries this diversity directly. The Caucasian bee, native to the region, can collect nectar from deep flowers with its long proboscis and works efficiently in cool highlands.
How Should Each Honey Be Consumed?
Flower honey is for breakfast and sweetening, chestnut honey pairs with cheese and yoghurt, and log-hive honey is chewed with its comb. Whichever variety you choose, avoid temperatures above 40 °C. One or two dessert spoons a day are enough for an adult.
What Is the Difference Between Flower, Chestnut and Log-Hive Honey?
All three come from the same highlands; the difference is the source plant and the method of processing. Flower honey comes from dozens of highland flowers, while chestnut honey is gathered mainly from chestnut blossoms. Log-hive honey is not extracted: it is sold with its comb, inside the wax built by the bees.
How Should Honey Be Stored?
Store every variety in a sealed glass jar between 18 and 24 °C in a dry place away from sunlight. Refrigeration is unnecessary. If extracted honey crystallises, it can be softened in warm water; do not heat comb honey because the wax melts. Always use a dry spoon in the jar.
