Artvin Honey, Flavor from the Kaçkar Mountains

Artvin honey is produced on highland meadows at elevations of 1,200 meters (3,940 ft) and above in the foothills of the Kaçkar Mountains in Turkey's eastern Black Sea region. Flower honey, chestnut honey and log-hive honey are the main varieties produced in the region. At this altitude, untreated mountain flora and a short flowering season distinguish its aroma and density from lowland honeys. Production in the region uses the cold-resistant Caucasian honey bee.

The Yazıcı family has kept bees in Artvin for two generations. Our honey comes from our own hives and from experienced beekeepers working in Artvin's villages and highlands at elevations of 1,200 meters and above, especially around Ardanuç; extraction and bottling take place in our own workshop in Artvin. There is no wholesale chain — honey comes directly from the producer to you.

We have three main varieties: highland (flower) honey, chestnut honey and natural comb honey. Highland honey is light in color with a mild aroma; chestnut honey is dark and distinctive for its pleasantly bitter taste; and natural comb honey is offered in the comb. Each variety is available in different sizes, from 485 grams to 5 kilograms.

We publish photographs of the highlands where our hives stand and of the flower flora that gives our honey its character in our gallery. You can ask us directly on WhatsApp any question, including which harvest it came from, its color and consistency; you are speaking to the person who prepares the product. Honey is a natural product, so its color and consistency vary slightly from one harvest to another.

Orders confirmed by 4:00 pm are dispatched the same day; delivery usually takes 2–6 business days. Jars are packed with extra protection against breakage. If a product arrives defective (broken, spoiled, incomplete or incorrect), you have the right to a return or replacement, and we cover the return shipping cost.
